Coconuts! Superfood for Male Virility and Testosterone Production.
This hearty tropical nut consist of 90+% raw saturated fat - an important building block of every cell in the human body including testosterone production. Now you may be thinking, “Wait!? Saturated fat? Aren’t I suppose to avoid saturated fats?”. The world of nutrition is full of misinformation, conflicting information and constantly changing information. One of the most controversial topics is fat. Men need to consume saturated fat in order for their bodies to manufacture testosterone. Testosterone is literally made out of fat(cholesterol). Through an incredibly complex process our testicles convert the cholesterol in our diets to testosterone. Testosterone is central in the male sexual response, including the desire for sex and the mechanics of triggering an erection. Testosterone acts as a vasodilator of the penile arterioles and cavernous sinusoids. In summary: eating quality saturated fats = stronger, harder, longer lasting erections.
In addition to being an excellent source of plant-based saturated fats coconuts have a whole host of other superfood properties. Eating coconuts increases our absorption of fat-soluble vitamins and amino acids. Coconuts are valuable to the immune system because they contain healthy antiviral, antimicrobial saturated fatty acids which help to fight off viruses, bacteria and fungal growth. They improve the utilization of blood sugar and the absorption of calcium and magnesium. Coconuts increase the speed and function of the thyroid which make them great for your metabolism. They also help the body efficiently use the essential fatty acids omega 3, 6 and 9.
Young coconuts contain a nourishing liquid called “coconut water”. Coconut water is natures sports drink and is packed with electrolytes which are great for hydration. It is considered an excellent nutrition source for infants and children because it contains organic compounds which promote muscle size. Coconut water can also be used as a topical for rashes and skin eruptions.
If you live in a tropical region coconuts can be found everywhere. They are a resilient nut that can float in the sea for hundreds of miles, land on a beach and grow a tree. They can also be found in many grocery stores in the shell, dried or as coconut oil and coconut butter. I like adding fresh or dried coconut to my smoothies, salads and/or oatmeal. Coconut oil is excellent to cook with, both for it’s delicious flavor and it’s health benefits.
